ThE gallery westport presents
ATIVICA WINE TASTING
in conjunction with Grape Circus Wines
THURSDAY 30th APRIL
7.00pm
After what seems like the longest every Winter here in Ireland, at least for the sixteen years I have been here, I am beyond excited to be hosting some of my soon-to-be new favourite wines from the wonderful folks over at Ativica wines.

Atavica is a 17-hectare organic farm located in the Tuscan Maremma. They produce low-intervention organic-certified natural wines and organic olive oil. They have 5.5 hectares of grape vines (Sangiovese, Vermentino, Pugnitello, Foglia Tonda) and 5.5 hectares of olive trees (Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo).

I first met Erin in my bar here in Westport and learned she made wines, chatting about some of my favourite producers, including friends of mine, that make wine in Italy, I was super stoked to learn that Enrico from Grape Circus was about to start importing her wines.

Fast forward a few months and there I was heading north into the mountains of South Tyrol, on my bicycle and I stopped off in a little wine bar in a beautiful town called Rovereto. Me being me, I got chatting to Marco the super friendly guy (and Bona-Fida Pommelier) who, it turns out, is good friends with Erin and Atavica, indeed Marco's brother works with them.

So it gives me great pleasure to be able to host some fabulous human beings in The Gallery and for them to share with you their love of natural wines.

We will have a super fun evening discovering more about their dreams, journey and of course, tasting their wines!

Join us, it's €35pp which of course helps keep my little business going, and also helps me support other small Irish owned businesses in the process.
